1944 Douglas DC-3/C-47
Description
One of the most iconic aircraft of all time, the Douglas DC-3 (and its military variant, the C-47) is a twin-engine propeller aircraft developed in the 1930s. It was one of the first commercial aircraft to be widely successful and was used by airlines around the world. During World War II, it was the primary transport aircraft used by the Allied forces and was used in a variety of roles, including paratrooper transport, cargo transport, and medical evacuation. It was rugged, reliable, and easy to maintain, making it a favorite among pilots and military personnel. Even today, the DC-3 is still used in a variety of roles, from cargo transport to skydiving.
