1956 Canadair Т-33АН Silver Star
Description
The Canadair T-33AN Silver Star was a two-seat, jet trainer aircraft that was developed by Canadair in the 1950s. It was based on the Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star, which was a modified version of the earlier P-80 jet fighter. The T-33AN was powered by a single Rolls-Royce Nene 10 turbojet engine, producing 4,600 lbf (20.4 kN) of thrust. It could reach a maximum speed of 545 mph (876 km/h) and had a range of 1,140 miles (1,834 km). The aircraft was primarily used by the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) for pilot training and was in service until the early 1990s.
