1962 Beechcraft UC-45J Navigator
Description
The Beechcraft UC-45J Navigator was a military version of the Beechcraft Model 18 twin-engine aircraft produced by the Beech Aircraft Corporation. It was used by the United States Navy, Army and Air Force as a light transport and utility aircraft. The aircraft was powered by two Pratt & Whitney R-985-AN-14B radial engines and could carry up to nine passengers. It had a maximum speed of 220 mph and a range of 1,100 miles. The UC-45J was used in a variety of roles including VIP transport, cargo transport, medical evacuation and passenger transport. It was also used for search and rescue missions and air-sea rescue. The aircraft was retired from service in the late 1950s and replaced by more modern aircraft.
