1962 Douglas AD-4 Skyraider
Description
The Douglas AD-4 Skyraider was a single-seat attack aircraft developed for the United States Navy and Marine Corps in the 1950s. It was designed to replace the AD-1 Skyraider and was first flown in 1945. It had a long range, high speed, and was heavily armed with four 20 mm cannons, rockets, and bombs. The AD-4 saw action in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. It was retired in the 1970s and replaced by the A-7 Corsair II.
