Description

The de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver is a single-engined, high-wing, propeller-driven, STOL (short take-off and landing) aircraft developed and manufactured by de Havilland Canada. It is one of the most successful bush planes, having been in continuous production from 1947 to 1967. The DHC-2T Turbine Beaver is a turbine-powered version of the Beaver, powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-20 turbine engine. The first turbine-powered Beaver was flown in 1964, and the aircraft was produced until 1967. The aircraft is capable of carrying up to a maximum of 9 passengers, and has a range of up to 1,000 miles. The aircraft is also capable of operating in a variety of environmental conditions, including high altitude, high temperatures, and high humidity. The Turbine Beaver is used in a variety of roles, including bush flying, aerial photography, air ambulance, and military transport.
