The Cessna 340A is a light, six-seat, twin-engined aircraft, developed by Cessna. It is a pressurized cabin aircraft, with a retractable landing gear. It was developed to replace the Cessna 310, which had been in production since 1953. The Cessna 340A was first delivered in 1972 and was in production until 1984. It is powered by two Continental TSIO-520-AE engines with a maximum takeoff weight of 4,650lbs. The Cessna 340A was popular among private and corporate owners, and was the first piston-engine aircraft to offer a turbocharged engine and pressurized cabin, allowing the aircraft to fly at higher altitudes with greater comfort.
