2004 Eurocopter Super Puma EC225
Description
The Eurocopter Super Puma EC225 is a medium-sized twin-engine transport and utility helicopter manufactured by Airbus Helicopters (formerly Eurocopter). It is the latest and most advanced version of the Super Puma family, replacing the previous AS332L and EC225 models. The EC225 is mainly used for offshore transport and search and rescue operations, though it is also used for military transport and utility missions. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 11.6 tons and a maximum range of 700 nautical miles. It is powered by two Turbomeca Makila 1A1 turboshaft engines, each producing 2,100 shp. It is equipped with two four-blade composite main rotor blades and a four-blade composite tail rotor. The cabin can accommodate up to 19 passengers in addition to two crew members, and it is fitted with an advanced avionics suite.
