Description
The McDonnell Douglas MD-902 Explorer is a twin-engine, light-medium twin-turboprop utility helicopter that was first produced in 1980. It is a stretched version of the MD-900 and can carry up to nine passengers or cargo. The MD-902 is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67A turboprop engines and has a five-blade main rotor. It features a glass cockpit with a digital autopilot system and is equipped with modern avionics. The aircraft has a maximum cruise speed of 166 knots and a range of 600 nautical miles. It is widely used in corporate and private operations, as well as by law enforcement, firefighting, search and rescue, and military services.
