Description
The Piper Navajo Chieftain is a twin-engined light aircraft designed and built by the Piper Aircraft Company of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. It is a high-performance version of the company's popular Navajo series of aircraft and was introduced in 1975. The Chieftain features a wider cabin and increased fuel capacity compared to the Navajo, as well as an increased gross weight and increased power from its two 250-horsepower Lycoming TIO-540-AJ1A engines. The Chieftain is also equipped with a Collins ProLine 21 avionics suite and optional weather radar. The Navajo Chieftain is popular among pilots and is used for a variety of purposes, including cargo and passenger transport, personal transport, and air ambulance.
