1988 Eurocopter BK-117
Description
The Eurocopter BK-117 is a twin-engined medium utility helicopter developed jointly by Kawasaki Heavy Industries of Japan and MBB of Germany. It first flew in 1979 and was introduced to service in 1983. There are two main versions of the BK-117, the B1 and the B2. The B1 is the original version introduced in 1983, while the B2 was first introduced in 1988. The B2 is an upgraded version of the B1 with improved engines, avionics, and other systems. It is also capable of carrying more passengers and cargo than the B1. The BK-117 is used mainly for air ambulance, law enforcement, and utility roles.
